Pasadena City College - Fall 2023 - Graphic Design
I designed a CD box set for three albums by the band, Stereolab, inspired by the dynamic and experimental nature of their electronic- indie-pop sound. To unify the albums, I simplified the original artwork into basic linework to the original album art, creating consistency across the set while distinguishing each album with its color. The linework was designed to evoke a sense of movement, reflecting the lively energy of their music.
In addition to the CDs, I designed a booklet featuring the tracklists, color-coded to match each album, as well as the overall packaging design. The cover incorporates hand-drawn typography paired with an illustration of a kaleidoscope breaking apart, spilling bright, dynamic colors to emphasize motion and vibrancy. This project allowed me to merge visual design with musical interpretation, crafting an engaging representation of Stereolab’s experimental sound.
