In this self-portrait, I illustrate my ongoing state of transformation. As a genderqueer individual, my gender expression is fluid, and I find freedom in how I choose to present myself—whether I feel masculine, feminine, somewhere in between, or entirely outside of the binary. I recognize aspects of myself in the media I consume, in past phases of my life, and my childhood.
This digital illustration shows my universe where I can access all the different versions of myself within my mind. These versions are integral to my identity, and I carry them within me. With all the accents of the various shades of pink, I reclaim the color pink regardless of its gender norms. I aim to embrace and integrate the parts of my past selves that hold significance, allowing them to enrich my present identity and affirm my fluidity in expression and experience.
